Today's pics of Yucca
It was not a very good day to take new pics but I had no choice.
Here are some Yucca I had tried some years ago without any experience and informations to grow them. The only one which died is Y. mixtecana and I'm not very sure why, probably the frost but I'm not really sure.
The others thrived correctly even if the grow rate is very different to a species to another.
All the species have approximately the same age (9 to 10 years old).

Re: Today's pics of Yucca
Very nice- great. I wish I had Yucca knowledge like that 20 years ago. The first one is the only one I've seen planted in the bay area..at least a front yard. Berkeley Botanical garden might have the last. Others are new to me.

Re: Today's pics of Yucca
Really nice Luc, I like 'em all! I have a beautiful Y. thompsoniana about 6' tall. Still waiting for its first bloom.

Lovely plants, Luc, and unusual species. 9 years is amazing - in the UK these would have barely made trunks!

Re: Today's pics of Yucca
While it is growing, I suspect this plant to be more a Y. filifera than a carnerosana, I'm waiting for a bloom which definitely will identify it.

Re: Today's pics of Yucca
A pretty little "thing" which stay stemless, very drought tolerant but not very frost unlike many others species.

Re: Today's pics of Yucca
Did you get the seeds from Rare Palm Seeds? If so there is a strong possibility I collected some of those - periculosa, potosina and mixtecana, anyway.

Re: Today's pics of Yucca
No I bought them as young plantlets to two differents french growers but Rare palm seeds stays the main supplier for growers also, so it is not impossible.

Re: Today's pics of Yucca
nice to see any Yucca here! Especially such well grown examples. I have only one of those shown. A very messy multi headed treculeana. With each blooming it produces another head. Faxonii growing right next to the treculeana blooms every year also but has never branched. Both were started from 3 foot top cuts.
thanks for the treat Luc
