Is there a really good way to distinguish the two species?

Howdy mea2112,

W. grandialata is a lot larger than E. Psuedocactus. The E. Grand also has distinct bell shaped growth patterns more frequently where as the E. Psuedo tends to have slimmer growth patterns. Two tone colouring is the same but the pattern of the colouration is also different. E. Grand has v shaped alternation of light and dark green across the full trunk. E. Psuedo the dark green runs up the centre of the trunk and branches out to the sides with the light green almost circling the peduncles.

If anything the E. Grand colour pattern could more likely be confused with the E. Bhougheyii or E. sunrise.

Hope that helps!
