A few aloes from Uganda
I have a friend who's lived in Africa for the past decade or so, drilling wells by hand for small villages. He recently sent me a few photos of some of the aloes around where he's at. He's currently living near Soroti, Uganda. I'm not going to try to guess the IDs and I don't know if these are native or not, but just thought I would share.

Re: A few aloes from Uganda
My friend who is living in Uganda ^ and another mutual friend met in Cape Town recently. The other mutual friend took some photos of aloes for me while there. Thought they might be appreciated here.

Wow.... that's an excellent share nsp88 .
These aloes look wonderful and some of the quite familiar too. It looks the area gets reasonably good rainfall. What area of Uganda is this?

The first post is from near Soroti. The second post is in Cape Town, South Africa, but since I got the photos in a way that was related to the guy who sent me the original Uganda photos I went ahead and made the second post here in the same thread.

Re: A few aloes from Uganda
Thanks for the info. I was just checking the weather of Soroti and the area gets decent rainfall most of the year. It doesn't get very cold too.....quite a tropical climate actually.
I am not sure these aloes are growing wild in Soroti or someone has planted them there !! Whatever the case may be, they seem to like the climate pretty well. BTW, any idea about the id of aloe in pic 1 of post 1? I think it pretty much resembles an un-identified aloe that I have.
Thanks

And I have no clue on the aloe ID, sorry! I suck at identification
