This is a low-growing, branching/offsetting, sprawling/creeping, shrubby aloe from Eastern Africa (no more specific information, though Somalia one of the countries it is found)... rosettes are a pale to medium green about 1' in diameter. Small plants are spotted and somewhat distichous, but as matures, both these characteristics disappear. One of the reasons I like this aloe is that it is nearly ALWAYS in flower whenever I see these in botanical gardens... my young plant only flowered in the spring, but mature plants have been seen in flower nearly every month of the year in California. Flowers are pale yellow and on very open racemes on highly branches but short inflorescences. Seems fairly cold hardy down to around 26F (good for such a tropical origin). Easy to grow plant and seedlings grow to flowering plants in just a few years (3-4).
