If you mean the one I'm touching -- the only photo on this page, as opposed to any ne of the photos in the links -- we think it is most likely a potatorum X salmiana hybrid. It was growing in a salmiana field with wild potatorum in the surrounding area. Pretty stunning plant, huh?Stan wrote:Whats that last Agave?

Beautiful plant. It has a taller shape then most A.potatorum. A big Artichoke.
A.K.,the temps look mild -based on flannel shirt photos-considering its the dry season. Whats the climate like?

Re: Oaxaca 2016, The Complete Series
Yeah, really tall. It had leaf shape and margins and color of potatorum and overall size of salmiana. They were also solitary, whereas all the surrounding salmiana were making pups.
Temps fluctuated over time and across elevation. Oaxaca is pretty far south -- it is just one state away from Guatemala. There were cold days (highs in the 50s/60s lows in the 50s/40s), and hot days (highs in the 80s lows in the 60s). A cold day at elevation with a lot of wind feels like fall in the US. There were days when we were dehydrated and hot and one day when we were a bit hypothermic.
